Nigerian Girl Emerges World English Cambridge Examination, Gets $5M Scholarship To 19 Universities In U.S., Canada

A 17-year-old Nigerian girl named Victory Yinka-Banjo emerges as the overall best in the World English Cambridge Examination and receives a $5 million scholarship to 19 universities in the United States and Canada. She is also the winner of the top spot in the World English Cambridge Examination.

Victory-Yinka Banjo attended Princeton High School in Lagos, Nigeria, and graduated high school. She was offered full-ride scholarships from 19 prestigious American and Canadian universities.

The total value of her scholarships was more than $5 million. Victory received full-ride scholarships and was accepted to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Stanford University, Johns Hopkins University, University of Virginia, and Ivy League schools like Yale College, Harvard College, Princeton University, and Brown University.

She also received full scholarships to various prestigious Canadian universities. Victory received the University of Toronto's Lester B. Pearson scholarship and the University of British Columbia's Karen McKellin International Leader of Tomorrow (KMILOT) scholarship.

Even now, it still seems pretty unbelievable. Victory stated, "I applied to so many schools because I thought no school would even consider me."

Their selection criteria for admissions are very strict. They accept only the very best. So, you can imagine how hard it is for me to keep in mind that I got into these schools every day. It's strange,” she continued.

Victory has been extraordinary since secondary school where she likewise turned into a senior official. She got straight A's on her West African Senior School Certificate exam and also got the World Cambridge Award for her English as a second language performance.
