They said that righteousness elevates a nation. We all believe that the judiciary is the last hope for the common man; however, when those who are the body of law can no longer trust the system, it is very pitiful.n
Chief. CBN Onwuasoanya Ezendigbo, addresses the media on Thursday, October 24, 2024. In the past, it was a joy to be admitted to a law school; in the present, I believe the opposite is true. how do you address judge "My Lord" when you lack confidence in judiciary? When you don't believe in your Lord?.
When good judgement is delivered it makes people to satisfy and believe in the process, that's why lawyers make reference to a particular precedent
which is essential, citing a source of case law and other law-recognized legal sources as legal grounds for reasoning lawyers' arguments to be more persuasive for resolving specific disputes or disagreements during adversarial activities of lawyers during court proceedings.
According to Ezendigbo, "The fact that a candidate from the Labour Party and the former national chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association chose not to seek redress after an election had been held and a winner had been announced in a contest about which he felt insatiable raises concerns regarding the degree to which a common man can push for justice."
The former presidential candidate went on to say that the judiciary system needs to be changed in order to make sure that all parts of the country work well and that no one is oppressed.
He asserts that the reform is affecting not only the judiciary but also the general public. Given how much money was spent on elections, how long will we continue to litigate? If the entire process is transparent, what's the point of challenging an election in court if individuals and the electoral body both do the right thing?
We can see that people in Senegal did what they thought was right, that the police did what was right, and that the electoral body did what was right.
In Nigeria, soldiers should be deployed to war zones rather than on election day. It's because we approach the system incorrectly. We are aware of what is right, but failing to act will be costly.
The Labour Party's candidate for governor made the following statements: My resolute stand against a flawed system, not my decision not to approach the tribunal, is a response to injustice. I have made the decision to rise above the muck of prolonged legal battles that frequently serve to legitimize a process that is fundamentally compromised. I, on the other hand, commit to the difficult but essential task of systemic reform. Our conflict goes far beyond the courtroom; It's a battle for our democracy's very soul.
