Petrol from the recently reopened Port Harcourt Refinery costs N75 per litre more than that from the Dangote Refinery, according to the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN).
Dr. Joseph Obele, PETROAN's public relations officer, revealed this revelation at the refinery's formal reopening on Tuesday. The refinery can now produce 60,000 barrels per day.
While applauding the federal government for renovating the refinery, Dr. Obele, a former chairman of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) at the Port Harcourt Depot, voiced concerns on the price discrepancy.
