Donald Trump, the US president-elect, has made his first appearance in the White House since his election victory last week.
He met with President Joe Biden, his longtime political rival, to discuss the impending handover of power.
At the beginning of their meeting, Mr. Biden said to Mr. Trump, "Welcome, welcome back," in front of a large fireplace.
He assured Mr. Trump that the transfer of power would be seamless and that he would do everything in his power "to make sure you're accommodated."
