A number of President-elect Donald Trump's Cabinet members and administration appointees "were targeted in violent, unAmerican threats to their lives and those who live with them" on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, according to the Trump-Vance transition team.
These assaults included "swatting" and bomb threats. Karoline Leavitt, who will be Trump's press secretary, responded by saying, "Law enforcement and other authorities moved swiftly to ensure the safety of those who were targeted,
the Transition team and President Trump appreciate their prompt action."
In a statement, the FBI stated that it is collaborating with other law enforcement agencies and is aware of "many bomb threats and swatting incidents targeting incoming administration nominees and appointees."
