The Gambia Immigration Department (GID) has announced the full resumption of operations for the issuance of ID cards and resident permits as of December 9, 2024.
Inspector Siman Lowe, the Public Relations Officer of GID, confirmed in a statement that all document processing centers are now operational.
In a statement, GID indicated that all applications approved from March 2024 onward have been printed and are ready for collection.
“Gambians and residents of The Gambia who have received approval for their applications can now visit the respective processing centers where they enrolled to pick up their printed cards starting Monday, December 30, 2024.
"To ensure a smooth collection process, GID advises applicants to bring along the official receipts received during their application process,“ Lowe added.
The Gambia Immigration Department expressed gratitude to the public for their patience and acknowledged the support from the Ministry of Interior and other stakeholders that helped resolve the previous delays.
